Fred Cacciotti CLU will celebrate 49 years in the Life Insurance business in 2020. His practice is focused on the individual and family market, offering a needs-analysis based formula. Fred feels this is the best way to help people solve their financial burdens arising from death, retirement, disability and the high costs of long term care.
Fred started his financial career in 1971; before this he was a professional musician performing with some of the greats of “Rock” and “Blues” like Neil Diamond, the Guess Who, Albert King, Janis Joplin & The Band, to name a few. He feels that this special time was a stepping – stone that helped to hone his communicative skills.
When he entered the insurance business it was just a “job” that would provide income for him and his newly married spouse, Stacia. Prudential of America was a good fit since the pay system was suited to those who were just starting out and needed a steady income. As time went on, he realized how important his work was and started looking at it as a career. His time with Prudential lasted 11 years, appearing on the “top producers list” many times. In 1980 and ‘82 he qualified for MDRT. In the scheme of things, one would say he did well; however, because he was limited as a captive agent, he left the company.
Setting up shop in his home as an independent contractor, working through his first MGA PPI, he failed miserably. Who would have thought that to succeed, one would need a strong sense of discipline every single day; like getting out of bed early enough to do the things that had to be done! When he was asked to come over to North American Life, he took the opportunity and never looked back. From 1983 to 1995 he again was offering insurance related products through one company and qualified for many sales conferences as a top producer.
In 1989 he received his mutual funds license and was able to pick the dealer he liked. He chose Worldsource Financial Management Inc. out of Markham Ontario, and is with them still to this day. In 1995 Manulife merged with North American Life and became Manulife Financial. Through 2005 he continued to serve his clients and excel at his career. The big change came in 2005 when Manulife re-structured its representative system to the independent contractor system. Fred finally felt he could take the plunge and go entirely independent, so he took this exciting opportunity and went with the insurance arm of Worldsource Financial Management Inc. He immediately started placing all his life related solutions through IDC Worldsource Insurance Network. This is the best thing that ever happened, as now Fred could seek the best solution, with the company that offered it; no holds barred! During the last 15 years Fred has received the “Top Advisor Award” twice in 2006 & 2007 as well as one more time in 2018 from Worldsource. During this period, he qualified for MDRT 3 more times as well!
He lives and continues his practice in Oshawa, Ontario for 42 years now, and is still going strong! Stacia and he have been happily married for 50 years, and have one daughter Amanda, who is in management with National Geographic Mississauga, son-in-law Kyle who is a manager at Canada’s Wonderland Vaughan, and two incredible grandchildren Freeman 11 and Fletcher 5. At age 71 Fred has no plans to retire soon. When his clients ask, “So when are you going to retire?” He simply says, “That word is not in my dictionary!”
